About your book

How much does a keepsake book of my child’s artwork cost in Kenya?
A Dear Little Me keepsake book costs KES 3,500 for the Little Book (60 memories), KES 4,700 for the Growing Book (100 memories) and KES 6,500 for the Big Little Book (160 memories). These are our launch prices. Every book is an A4 hardcover, and pickup from your home in Nairobi is included. Delivery is KES 400.

Do I need to scan or photograph the artwork myself?
No. You just hand over the paper and we do everything else. We collect your child’s work, check it against your list, scan every page, curate the best pieces, design the book and return it to you with all the originals.

What kinds of work can go in the book?
Almost anything your child has made on paper can go in: drawings, paintings, worksheets, handwriting practice, stories, collages and first attempts at writing their name. Crafts with a bit of texture, like googly eyes, straws or tissue paper, are welcome too. We’ll capture them so they look as close to the real thing as possible.

My child’s school doesn’t send home a folder. Can I still order?
Yes. Not every school sends work home in a manila file, and that’s completely fine. Send whatever you’ve kept, whether it’s an envelope, a bag, a box or the pile on the fridge, and we’ll sort it.

What if I don’t have many pieces yet?
You can order with as few as 20 pieces. If you have fewer pieces than your book holds, we’ll design it so every page still feels full and special. If you’re not sure which size to choose, message us and we’ll help.

Can I add a letter, my child’s name, school and class to the book?
Yes. Your child’s name goes on the cover, and you can add their school, class and year. You can also include a “Dear Little Me” letter from you, printed inside the book. Our Intake Questionnaire asks for all of this, and we can help you write the letter if you’d like.

Do I get to approve the design before it’s printed?
No, our team designs and checks every book carefully before printing.

Can I make one book for several terms or years?
Yes. Many parents send one term’s work, but you can send work from several terms or years in one book. Choose a bigger size, like the Growing Book or Big Little Book, if you have a lot.

Can siblings share one book, or does each child need their own?
Each child gets their own book so their story stays theirs. / Siblings can share a book. Just tell us in your questionnaire. If you’re ordering for more than one child, message us first.

How do you keep my child’s work safe during pickup and delivery?
Every pickup is packed to survive the journey, rain included, so your child’s work arrives with us exactly as you sent it. We log every piece the moment it lands, and nothing moves forward until we’ve confirmed it’s all there. Every original comes back to you with your finished book.

Can I get the digital scans as well?
Scans can be added to your order. If you only want your child’s work digitised without a book, choose The Little Archive – Digitise Only, from KES 1,999.

When should I order to get my book before Christmas?
Order by 4th December ,2026 to receive your book before Christmas. Books take 11 –17 business days from pickup to delivery, and December gets busy, so the earlier you book your pickup, the better.

Can I give a Dear Little Me book as a gift?
Yes. A Dear Little Me gift card lets aunties, uncles, godparents and grandparents give a keepsake book to a child they love. The parents then send in the artwork when they’re ready. You can buy gift cards here

Keeping your child’s work

What can I do with all my child’s artwork and schoolwork?
The easiest way to keep your child’s artwork without the clutter is to turn it into a book. Most parents end up with drawers, boxes and fridge doors full of paper that fades and gets lost. A Dear Little Me book keeps the best of it in one beautiful hardcover, and you still get every original back.

How do I store my child’s schoolwork?
Most parents use boxes, binders or folders, but those fill up fast and the paper can fade, tear or get damp over time. A keepsake book stores a whole term or year in the space of one book on your shelf. It’s also far easier to look through with your child.

Which of my child’s schoolwork should I keep?
Keep pieces that show who your child was at that age: first attempts at their name, self-portraits, stories, favourite drawings and work that shows progress. If you can’t decide, send us everything and we’ll help you choose the pieces that tell their story best.

Should my child help choose which pieces go in the book?
Yes, if they’d like to. Children love choosing their favourites, and it makes the book feel like theirs. You can list must-include pieces in your Intake Questionnaire, and we’ll make sure they’re in.

Is it okay to throw away my child’s artwork?
Yes, but it helps to keep a record first. Many parents feel guilty throwing away their child’s work, and a keepsake book solves that. The memories are kept in a book you’ll open for years, so you can let go of the paper (or keep the originals we return).

How do I turn my child’s artwork into a book?
You can do it yourself by photographing each piece and building a photo book online, but it takes hours of scanning, editing and designing. With Dear Little Me, you just hand over the artwork. We collect it from your home in Nairobi, digitise it, design the book and deliver it in 11 –17 business days.

What’s a meaningful personalised gift for grandparents in Kenya?
One of the most meaningful gifts for grandparents is a book of their grandchild’s own artwork and handwriting. A Dear Little Me extra copy costs from KES 3,000 and is printed alongside your child’s book. Grandparents get a keepsake they’ll treasure and show off to every visitor.

What should I do with my child’s end-of-term schoolwork?
Turn it into a keepsake book before it gets lost. Every term ends with a bag full of drawings, worksheets and crafts. Book a Dear Little Me pickup and we’ll turn that term’s work into a hardcover book, with every original returned to you.
